How I Know My 6-Week Program Really Works

I’m Sally Baker, and I developed this program after struggling for years with weight and health issues. Now I’m a naturopath, at a healthy weight, and I feel amazing… but it wasn’t always this way.

Here’s how it all started… After gaining almost 20kgs, I was determined to make a change. Knowing how important it is to have support, I asked a friend to join me in an online 12-week program that was based on calorie counting.

We both had the same amount of weight to lose, so we both followed a 1200 calorie diet. We each lost 2 kgs in the first week! We were both excited and motivated and swore to keep each other accountable.

However, three weeks into the program things went sour.

My friend was feeling amazing; she was bursting with energy and had increased her exercise so she was on a 1400 calorie diet and had still lost 6½ kg.

Needless to say, this was a recipe for disaster. I caved in a bad way (not knowing it was because my body was in starvation mode). My cravings were insane, and I would struggle within, then finally crumble and over eat rubbish. I put back on all the weight I’d lost, plus 2 more kilos.

Worst of all, I felt like a complete failure. My friend easily reached her 20kg goal, was looking great, and feeling so accomplished and happy. It was one of the most frustrating times of my life, and for some time I really blamed myself for not having any control or willpower and for being lazy.

After years of dieting and failing, blaming myself, feeling sick, sluggish and depressed, I finally found the answer. I had hypothyroidism and other health issues that were making it impossible for me to drop the weight.

I took my health into my own hands, became a naturopath, and got my body back in balance. When that happened, the weight came off easily.
